Position: Research Coordinator

Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition

Term: Full-Time, 2-year term with possibility of renewal

Salary: Will be commensurate with skills and experience

Reports to: Dr. Mohit Kehar

CHEO RI is the research arm of CHEO and an affiliated institute of the University of Ottawa. We honor the Algonquin Anishinabek Nation and all Indigenous peoples. Our mission is to create knowledge to support world-class pediatric care.

Position Overview:

We seek a motivated Research Coordinator to support clinical projects involving databases, transition to adult care, robotics, apps, and pediatric rehabilitation technology. Responsibilities include data management, study coordination, patient recruitment, bio-sample handling, budget monitoring, publication, systematic reviews, and supervision of medical students.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with research team, clinicians, patients, and families
  • Manage research data collection and analysis
  • Prepare submissions to REB, develop protocols, consent forms
  • Recruit patients, obtain consent, conduct assessments
  • Manage data in REDCap, track patient progress
  • Monitor study budgets and expenses
  • Assist with grant writing, reports, presentations, publications
  • Organize research meetings, ensure protocol adherence
  • Data entry, verification, quality control
  • Provide administrative support, communicate with stakeholders
  • Degree in health-related field, minimum 2 years relevant experience
  • GCP, ICH, Health Canada Division 5 certifications
  • Knowledge of research design, PHIPA
  • Advanced computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Reference Manager)
  • Experience with SPSS, REDCap, report writing
  • Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal skills
  • Bilingual in English/French preferred
