Position: Research Coordinator, BORN Ontario

Type: Full-time, 1-year contract with possibility of renewal

Salary: $28.00 - $34.00/hour, commensurate with experience and skills

Reports to: Heather Howley, Research Director, BORN Ontario

CHEO RI is the research arm of the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario and an affiliated institute of the University of Ottawa. We acknowledge the unceded Algonquin Anishinabek territory and honor their enduring presence and contributions.

We seek a motivated Research Coordinator to support studies within BORN Ontario and Prenatal Screening Ontario (PSO). Responsibilities include managing research projects, data collection and analysis, ethics submissions, literature reviews, supporting grant applications and publications, liaising with investigators, and other research activities.

Main Responsibilities
  • Administer research studies and projects.
  • Assist with ethics board submissions and tracking.
  • Conduct qualitative data collection and analysis.
  • Develop research protocols and conduct literature reviews.
  • Develop and manage surveys in REDCap.
  • Track grants, publications, and presentations.
  • Assist in preparing research reports and conference presentations.
  • Organize research meetings and perform administrative tasks.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing, psychology, health sciences, or related fields (essential).
  • Master’s degree in health or research-related fields (essential).
  • Minimum 3 years of research experience (essential).
  • Knowledge of clinical research standards and ethics processes (essential).
  • Experience with research coordination and qualitative methods (essential).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with REDCap, literature reviews, and reference management software (preferred).
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills (essential).
  • Bilingual in English and French (preferred).
