The Health Equity Office is seeking a full-time, permanent Research & Evaluation Coordinator. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Health Equity, the Research Coordinator will provide coordination and assist in the development and implementation of research and evaluation initiatives including study design, data collection, analysis, confidential storage, report writing and preparation of manuscripts for research publications. The successful candidate will conduct comprehensive literature searches, assist in writing grant proposals, manage all aspects of data collection and processing, and coordinate all relevant protocols to ensure compliance for scientific activities including REB protocols. Responsibilities also include assisting in the development and implementation of evaluation tools, monitoring day-to-day aspects of research and evaluation projects and assisting with knowledge translation (KT) activities such as building and delivering KT plans.

The Research and Evaluation Coordinator will work with internal and external stakeholders from diverse backgrounds. The successful candidate will support a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable regulatory and legislative requirements. The position is located at 250 College Street.

The successful candidate will have a master’s degree in a health, social, behavioral or related science with a minimum of two years of relevant research and/or evaluation experience. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of quantitative and qualitative research methods is required. Advanced knowledge of evaluation frameworks, principles and methodology, and demonstrated experience in conducting evaluation studies is required. Experience conducting surveys and semi-structured interviews, as well as analyzing quantitative and qualitative data is required. Experience with research and/or evaluation in the area of mental health is preferred. Previous experience writing grant proposals, reports and manuscripts for research publications is required. Solid knowledge of health equity principles and tools is required. The successful candidate will possess strong PC software skills including experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel), Internet search engines, and the ability to learn new programs quickly. High proficiency in SPSS and NVivo is required. Demonstrating knowledge of KT strategies, methodologies and tools is required. Experience creating and posting website content and using social media for KT is required. Excellent interpersonal, communication (oral/written), and organizational skills are required, along with creative problem-solving abilities. The successful candidate will possess the ability for self-directed learning/working and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboration and teamwork. Candidates also require the ability to work effectively in a wide-range of settings with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Bilingualism (French/English) or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.
