The Toronto Osteoarthritis Clinical Research Program is currently looking for a Research Coordinator I to support its research efforts, particularly an exciting project led by physicians and scientists at St. Michael’s Hospital, University of Toronto, and an international team of osteoarthritis experts.

The primary role of the Research Coordinator I is to coordinate and implement research studies. This includes leading patient recruitment for a large multi-site study aimed at developing early classification criteria for osteoarthritis, managing research materials and data, preparing reports, and assisting with regulatory submissions and data analysis.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Research Activities (80%)

  • Coordinate study activities, manage timelines and resources
  • Recruit participants via various means, collaborating with community organizations and hospitals
  • Support data collection, design interview guides and surveys, conduct interviews
  • Perform participant assessments and liaise with stakeholders
  • Manage ethics applications and approvals
  • Contribute to research reports, publications, and presentations
  • Assist with data analysis, manuscript writing, and systematic reviews
  • Organize imaging and biological sample collection

Administrative Duties (20%)

  • Organize meetings, prepare correspondence and reports
  • Facilitate communication with stakeholders
  • Maintain study data and develop source documents
  • Perform general office tasks
  • Responsibilities

    Prioritize safety and confidentiality, comply with policies, and respond appropriately to breaches or risks.

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health or Life Sciences (MSc preferred), with 3+ years relevant experience
  • Attention to detail, excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Experience with patient recruitment, research methods, and data management
  • Knowledge of anatomy, GCP guidelines, and clinical procedures
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, experience with REDCap, and familiarity with statistical and qualitative software are assets
