The Opportunity

The Pediatric Endocrinology/Diabetes/Neurology Research Group seeks a Research Coordinator to support clinical trials and research operations, including studies like TrialNet (Pathway to Prevention, LIFT), iCARE, MIREC Endo, CAN-DRE, and others.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

  • Assist in coordinating research protocols and liaise with other study sites
  • Support research ethics processes for all studies
  • Organize regulatory documents
  • Meet with patients and families to obtain informed consent
  • Perform study procedures such as growth assessments, saliva collection, venous blood work
  • Administer questionnaires and verify data quality
  • Review health charts and report adverse events
  • Track study participants and schedule tests and appointments
  • Coordinate specimen shipping with labs
  • Manage Case Report Forms and source documents
  • Administer and record study test results
  • Enter data and maintain databases
  • Prepare correspondence and assist with study meetings and monitoring visits

Hours of Work

Monday to Friday, 7.5-hour shifts

Your Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in science or health field
  • Previous clinical research or similar experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and typing skills; database experience is an asset
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexible hours and organizational skills
  • Sensitivity to ethical issues, privacy, and confidentiality
  • Current CPR, Health Canada Division 5, TCPS 2, and ICH-GCP certifications
  • Knowledge of research methods; experience with blood work/IV in pediatrics is an asset
  • Experience with research ethics boards, research contracts, diabetes, epilepsy, or scientific writing is an asset
