University of Toronto is seeking a part-time Research Coordinator (50% FTE) in the Faculty of Social Work. The role supports the AIM BIG project, coordinating activities, meetings, and data formatting while liaising with partners and sponsors.

50% FTE with a pro-rated salary and strong emphasis on research integrity and collaboration. The position requires a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent), at least two years coordinating research in academia, and proficiency with Microsoft 365 apps and CMS

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum two (2) years' of experience coordinating research projects in an academic environment.
  • Demonstrated interest in research on aging and inequalities.
  • Experience fostering positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including community partners, agencies.
  • Experience drafting summaries of research results, producing tables, figures and reports.
  • Experience completing Research Ethics Board (REB) applications and related University research protocols.

Your opportunity:

Aging in the Margins: Building Inclusivity and Goodwill (AIM BIG) is a seven-year SSHRC project that will bring together leading researchers, community organizations, and older adults across Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Norway, Finland, and Sweden, to better understand and address the processes that shape marginalization in later life.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Scheduling day-to-day project activities
  • Coordinating meeting schedules, agendas, materials, action and follow-up items
  • Formatting data collected for presentations and reports
  • Liaising with agencies, collaborators, industry sponsors, faculty and other stakeholders
  • Providing detailed information on processes, policies, and procedures
  • Conceptualizing, coordinating, and executing event activities and programming, including determining logistical details and organizing resources
  • Maintaining information on digital platforms and verifying that content is consistent with brand guidelines
  • Handling sensitive and/or confidential information
Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum two (2) years' of experince coordinating research projects in an academic environment.
  • Demonstrated interest in research on aging and inequalities.
  • Experience fostering positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including community partners, agencies.
  • Experience drafting summaries of research results, producing tables, figures and reports.
  • Experience completing Research Ethics Board (REB) applications and related University research protocols (e.g., annual reports sent to funder, research office, Faculty).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 apps (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.) and content management systems (e.g. WordPress, Drupal) to update website content.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communications skills (oral and written) with an ability to multi-task and prioritize competing demands.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong commitment to accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills and proven ability to meet deadlines.
Assets (Nonessential):
  • Fluency in French both written and oral.
  • Experience with knowledge mobilization and translation activities aimed at lay public, as well as researchers and/or decision makers.
