Research Associate in Health Inequalities

Applications are invited for the role of Research Associate in Health Inequalities at The University of Manchester.

The university has established Healthier Futures, a new research platform aimed at addressing health inequalities. This initiative brings together a multidisciplinary community from across the university and external stakeholders to:

  • Provide an integrated view of research efforts aimed at reducing health inequalities, serving as a 'front door' for partners and funders.
  • Develop strategies for Manchester to be a leading partner in health equity research.
  • Co-produce research and develop new questions with stakeholders, including communities experiencing health disparities and local governments.
  • Stimulate interdisciplinary research to leverage external funding.
  • Drive impactful research to address health inequalities locally, nationally, or globally.

We seek a postdoctoral research associate interested in health inequalities with skills in both quantitative and qualitative research methods. The successful candidate will map existing evidence on policies aimed at reducing health disparities, conduct evidence synthesis, develop proposals for research funding, and draft protocols and papers.

The appointee will work under Professor Dame Nicky Cullum (Line Manager) within the Division of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work, School of Health Sciences, Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health. This is a full-time, office-based position at the University of Manchester campus on Oxford Road.
