Your Opportunity:
The goal of the Cancer Prevention & Screening Innovation (CPSI) Team within the Public Health, Evidence, and Innovation (PHEI) division of Provincial Population and Public Health (PPPH) is to reduce new cancer cases, detect cancer at earlier stages, and decrease unjust and avoidable differences in cancer risk. The team collaborates with community partners to develop and translate new knowledge into scalable, innovative cancer prevention interventions, transitioning proven strategies to province-wide initiatives. CPSI’s settings-based approach focuses on improving environments that influence health, including virtual settings, in Alberta, emphasizing community and workplace settings. Reporting to the Senior Scientist, the Research Associate supports multidisciplinary teams by designing and conducting knowledge syntheses, managing data, and developing scientific protocols, reports, policy briefs, and publications. The role may also involve coordinating research team assignments and impacts setting-based cancer prevention efforts.
Description:
As a Research II, you will coordinate research activities to generate and disseminate knowledge on health and medical concerns. Working with the principal investigator, you will assist with study design, research protocols, data collection methods, and result interpretation. You will contribute to grant applications, literature reviews, environmental scans, and oversee research projects. Responsibilities include developing recommendations and managing study approvals.
