Job Description: The Research Associate is responsible for the collection, organization, methodology, analysis and presentation of health care data for the purpose of epidemiology and surveillance studies, resource/ utilization reviews, quality improvement, program planning and statistical reporting. The Research Associate reports to the Provincial Manager Analytics.
QUALIFICATIONS: Diploma in Health Information Management
Experience: Two (2) years previous experience in coding/staging and abstracting information preferably in oncology.
Membership: Active Membership with the Canadian Information Management Association (CHIMA)
Skills:
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers, patients/clients and/or the community.
Competent in use of a variety of software.
Ability to interpret detailed information and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Moderate judgment and problem solving skills are required to select the most appropriate action from a variety of alternatives.
Accuracy of fine motor movements for typing/data entry is required.
Human relations skills required to empathize with complaints and/or concerns and establish rapport with patients, the public and other staff.
Knowledge of culturally responsive care for First Nations and Mtis people.
