Responsibilities
  • Under the authority and supervision of the principal investigator, conduct independent research and other assigned research projects.
  • Contribute to or be responsible for research funding applications to support a) independent research project(s) and/or b) the entire research team.
  • Develop research protocols.
  • May be in charge of writing scientific papers or other types of communication related to the research project (e.g., artwork, performance, exhibition, composition, intervention).
  • Manage laboratory (or other research space) and research personnel in addition to the incumbent\'s research project duties.
  • Represent the principal investigator in some cases and perform related duties, including those of a research assistant or senior research assistant.
Qualifications / skills required
  • PhD degree or equivalent terminal degree in the appropriate field.
  • Demonstrated interest in sustainable innovation in chemical and materials engineering fields.
  • Fluency in English, with practical knowledge of French (reading and evaluating French documents is necessary on a day-to-day basis).
  • Strong leadership, ability to resolve conflicts within a team, rigor, creativity, analytical skills, autonomy, and ability to meet tight deadlines, both in a team and independently.
  • Excellent communication abilities, detail-oriented with robust organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
