This position involves maintaining daily care of laboratory mice, including changing and cleaning cages, maintaining mouse data, performing census duties, disinfecting rooms, and general upkeep of the animal facility. Weekend work is required.
The incumbent reports to the Director of Core Facilities and may receive instructions from other staff members within the unit, as directed by the Director.
All duties must adhere to data privacy, confidentiality policies, standard operating procedures, and UBC policies. Errors could have major impacts, especially given the value of the research mice. Strict adherence to protocols is essential.
Works under general supervision, following the directives of the Director of Core Facilities.

High school graduation and at least one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Willingness to respect diverse perspectives and demonstrate commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
