RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC

The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre located in Montreal, Quebec. It is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC), affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position summary

Under the supervision of Dr. David P. Labbé, an Associate Professor and Scientist at McGill University affiliated with the Cancer Research Program, the selected candidate will support a translational research project. This project aims to exploit precision nutrition strategies to enhance the efficacy of DNA-damaging therapies in prostate cancer.

General Duties

The candidate will work under the direct supervision of a senior Research Associate and will play a key role in executing and managing a multidisciplinary research project of international scope, involving research partners in the United States and Australia. The project aims to identify dietary elements that could increase the efficacy of DNA-damaging therapies for prostate cancer. Responsibilities include:

  1. Overseeing and participating in laboratory experiments and project execution,
  2. Performing specialized technical tasks such as genotyping, tissue culture, molecular biology, and irradiation,
  3. Supervising and participating in small animal handling and in vivo experiments (xenografts, PDXs, injections, necropsy),
  4. Recording results, performing calculations, and compiling data,
  5. Analyzing and interpreting data, conducting statistical tests,
  6. Contributing to figures, publications, and grant applications,
  7. Participating in laboratory administrative tasks.
