A healthcare research institute in Ottawa is seeking a Research Assistant to support clinical studies. The ideal candidate will manage participant recruitment and conduct follow-up surveys, requiring strong interpersonal skills and a background in health-related disciplines. Varied. Up to 37.5 hours per week. Flexibility in work schedule may be required periodically (evenings and/or weekends) to accommodate participant availability for interviews and completion of study-related activities.
Reporting to the Research Manager and working under the direction of the trial’s Principal Investigator and Research Coordinator, the Research Assistant will be responsible primarily for participant recruitment, conducting follow-up surveys with enrolled participants and subsequent data entry, in addition to other study support activities. Most interactions with participants will be completed by telephone however the Research Assistant may be asked to come onsite to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute to perform various tests on enrolled participants. The Research Assistant will be self-motivated, a highly competent individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills, have a good understanding of research and ethical practice, and possess the knowledge and skills needed to work in a clinical research environment.
