Michael Garron Hospital is seeking a Sterile Processing professional to decontaminate, reprocess and sterilize equipment and surgical instruments. The role supports delivery of clean, safe devices to user areas.

The candidate should have MDRD certification completed within the last two years, Grade 12, and at least one year of MDRD experience, with ability to lift 25 lbs repeatedly and work varied shifts, including nights and weekends.

Overview

To apply the most current techniques and knowledge for the processing of sterile products in order to provide high quality service in the supply of med-surgical products and instrumentation to user areas.

Responsible for decontamination, reprocessing and sterilization of equipment, supplies and surgical instrumentation.

Education

• Minimum of grade 12 or equivalent.
• Successful completion of MDRD certification from an accredited college (completion of program within the last 2 years) required.

Qualifications

• One-year experience (within the last 2 years ) working in an MDRD environment- required
• Adheres to hospital's workplace safety standards pertinent to position.
• experience in the functions of assembly , prep and package, decomtaination of surgical case carts/instrument / trays / equipment.
• Computer skills.
• Able to demonstrate good decision-making and problem solving skills.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lift 25 lbs repeatedly and push items over 50 lbs repeatedly.
• Ability to work all shifts including weekends and night shift.
• Good work and attendance record required.
