As a Representative - Outside Sales (Industrial), you will develop new prospects and interact with assigned customers to increase sales and margins. Your focus will be face-to-face selling and account management to meet sales revenue, engaging with all levels of customer organizations, including technical, operations, supply chain, and executive management. You may need to develop and deliver sales bids, presentations, proposals, and product demonstrations.


Responsibilities

  • Assess customer needs and suggest products, services, and solutions, ensuring a smooth sales process.
  • Execute and expand assigned customer account plans developed with management.
  • Implement billing margin initiatives through value-added services, marketing programs, and supplier engagement.
  • Prospect potential customers, including cold calling and developing leads via referrals.
  • Communicate with customers and leads to identify their needs and suggest suitable products/services.
  • Demonstrate product functions and utility based on customer needs.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management; resolve post-sale issues.
  • Maintain communication with existing and previous customers about new products and services.
  • Utilize sales management tools for planning and documenting opportunities.
  • Develop product knowledge through training.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers through joint sales calls.
  • Provide quotations directly or with support team.

Qualifications

  • High School Degree or Equivalent required.
  • Prior sales experience required; outside sales preferred.
  • Two years of industry experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel to clients and suppliers.
  • Flexible schedule and occasional overnight travel.
  • Excellent sales, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of advertising and sales promotion techniques (Preferred).
  • Ability to travel 50-75% of the time.

Working Environment: Outside Sales – Work involves travel to customer sites or warehouse facilities, with exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
