Job summary

MSC Canada is seeking a Maintenance and Repair Representative to support daily M&R activities for damaged containers. You will track repair progress, coordinate with repair partners, depots, and internal stakeholders, and maintain accurate operational information to ensure timely container turnaround.

You will escalate issues, review estimates, and generate reports for stakeholders while upholding MSC values and adherence to procedures.

• Track SLA performance and surface recurrent issues to management.

Job description

The Maintenance and Repair Representative supports the daily execution of Maintenance and Repair activities for MSC Canada damaged containers. The position focuses on tracking repair activities, coordinating with repair partners, depots and internal stakeholders, maintaining accurate operational information, and following up on open repair and recovery activities. The role contributes to asset velocity, inventory accuracy, repair quality and container readiness by ensuring assigned M&R activities are processed accurately and in accordance with established procedures.

Level of Responsibility

Increased handling tasks with greater independence; executes assigned Maintenance and Repair activities in accordance with established processes, procedures and service expectations. Accountable for the accuracy, timeliness and quality of assigned tasks and for escalating operational exceptions or issues requiring management review. Works collaboratively with team members, repair partners, depots and internal stakeholders in support of the M&R process.

Key Tasks

• Support the daily execution of the Maintenance and Repair (M&R) process.
• Coordinate with repair partners, depots and internal stakeholders on assigned repair activities.
• Track damaged inventory and maintain accurate visibility of container repair status.
• Follow up on open repairs and support timely container turnaround.
• Review repair estimates and supporting documentation and elevate items requiring approval in accordance with established procedures.
• Monitor repair progress, turnaround metrics and repair documentation.
• Support repair quality controls and coordinate quality-check activities as required.
• Follow up with responsible parties in support of the cost recovery process.
• Coordinate with Risk Prevention and the M&R Manager on complex customer-related cases and emergency repairs.
• Process and maintain M&R information and documentation through the appropriate MSC systems.
• Prepare and maintain recurring operational reports and provide updates to relevant stakeholders.
• Track Service Level Agreement performance and elevate exceptions or recurring performance issues to the M&R Manager.
• Verify invoices and supporting documentation against approved repairs and established requirements.
• Identify operational issues or potential process improvements and elevate them to the M&R Manager.
• Maintain accurate records and supporting documentation in accordance with established M&R procedures.

Skills & Experience

• Experience with containerized cargo movement is an asset.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to manage multiple operational priorities and follow up on open items.
