Representative - Inside Sales (electrical)

Job Description

As a Representative - Inside Sales, you will interact with existing customers to increase sales of the company's products and/or services. You will obtain, create, and up-sell orders, ensuring customer satisfaction and adding value to the buying experience. Your focus will be on proactive selling techniques to expand current accounts. Collaboration with outside sales is essential to meet goals.

Responsibilities

1. Obtain orders through email and telephone, verify and enter items, transfer orders to fulfillment, and explain stock-outs and delivery dates.
2. Increase orders by suggesting related items, explaining features, and reviewing customer purchase history.
3. Own, qualify, and develop opportunities from marketing, outside sales, and national accounts.
4. Identify opportunities for process improvements.
5. Prepare and follow up on quotations to secure orders or understand reasons for lost orders.
6. Review open order reports and address at-risk items to meet delivery promises.
7. Maintain backorder reports, expediting notices, and customer notifications.
8. Report industry trends, pricing, and customer feedback to management.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 2-4 years of experience in sales and sales administration, with growing expertise.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
• Ability to multitask and work in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to prospect and market to existing and new accounts.
• Problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
• Willingness to travel 0-25%.
