Job description

Position Overview

We have a permanent, full-time opportunity for a Reporting Analyst - Capital Plan. Reporting to the Manager, Project Investments, you’ll play a key role in supporting the Airport Authority’s capital program through data analysis, reporting, and coordination of budget planning and project tracking. This role works closely with cross-functional teams to enable informed decision-making and ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Develop and maintain the Capital Program database to ensure accurate and up-to-date project information.
  • Ensure all interfaces between business cases, Initiative Execution Plans (IEPs), and applicable systems (e.g., Fusion Analytics Warehouse, Oracle, Power BI) function properly.
  • Analyze and monitor the progress of capital initiatives to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.
  • Develop and recommend new processes and procedures to enhance project data capture, information workflow, internal controls, and reporting.
  • Prepare documentation and reports, including grant reimbursement claims, to support capital initiatives and funding processes.
  • Develop and provide data that contributes to communication materials to provide management with insights into trends, emerging issues, and concerns from the project tracking process.
  • Review and provide guided feedback for all materials prepared by the project community to ensure quality and completeness for presentation.
  • Support review of Business Cases, Project Charters, and Project Change Requests (PCRs), and the Stage Gate Process, including working with PMs to understand project scope, identify complex accounting issues, and assess cash flow and budget impacts.

Key Qualifications Include

  • At least five years of extensive experience in roles such as business/data analysis, project management, meeting facilitation, supplemented by a bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Construction Management, Accounting/Finance, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Strong foundation in capital and project accounting, with the ability to interpret and apply accounting policies; experience with the Capital Delivery Process (CDP) and PMI methodologies is an asset.
  • Proven analytical and project management skills, including assessing complex data, monitoring project progress, and applying quality assurance best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Knowledge of systems such as Oracle, Fusion Analytics Warehouse, Power BI, Think Cell, and VBA is an asset.
  • Strong business writing and collaboration skills, including preparing clear documentation, delivering impactful presentations, and working with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.

This position is open to both Vancouver Airport Authority employees and external applicants. Previous job performance will be considered for internal candidates.

Salary Range: $73,738 to $96,377 per annum, based on 37.5 hours per week. Compensation is tailored to reflect your experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
