Job summary

Varsity Tutors, a Nerdy Company, is seeking experienced Replit tutors to deliver online one-on-one sessions. You’ll set your schedule, work remotely, and earn competitive rates with payments up to twice per week for invoiced sessions.

In this role you’ll guide students through cloud development, AI-assisted coding, and deployment tasks, adapting to each learner’s pace while leveraging our AI Tutor Copilot to boost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of the Replit cloud development environment and online IDE features.
• Ability to explain browser-based development workflows and AI-assisted code generation.
• Experience teaching cloud-based development and rapid prototyping to students.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1-on-1 online tutoring sessions to individual students.
• Accept on-demand Tutoring requests and manage scheduling with students.

What We Look For In a Replit Tutor

• Advanced Subject Mastery: Deep knowledge of Replit cloud development environment including online IDE features, multi-language support, collaborative coding, Replit AI assistant, deployment, database integration, version control, and project hosting. Ability to explain browser-based development workflows, AI-assisted code generation, and rapid prototyping capabilities while preparing students for collaborative coding and web application deployment.
• Conceptual Teaching & Problem-Solving: Skilled at teaching cloud-based development, collaborative coding, and rapid application deployment using Replit. Guides students through creating projects in multiple programming languages, using Replit AI for code generation and debugging, collaborating in real-time with other developers, deploying web applications, and integrating databases. Emphasizes accessible development without local setup and connects Replit to learning programming, hackathon prototyping, and team collaboration.
• Curriculum Awareness & Adaptive Instruction: Familiar with Replit platform capabilities and common challenges such as understanding cloud versus local development differences, managing project dependencies, and leveraging AI assistance effectively. Adapts instruction using guided coding projects, collaborative exercises, and deployment tutorials to support students from coding beginners using Replit as their first development environment through experienced developers using it for rapid prototyping and collaboration.
• Effective Teaching Methods: Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
• Ability to adapt to different learning styles and student needs.
