Job summary

Varsity Tutors is seeking Replit tutors to join our Live Learning Platform, delivering online, one-on-one instruction to students nationwide from the comfort of home.

As a tutor, you set your own hours, earn up to $40/hour, and receive payments up to twice per week. You’ll use our Live Learning Platform with AI-assisted tools to support engaging, rapid prototyping and cloud-based projects in multiple languages.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of the Replit cloud development environment including online IDE features and multi-language support.
• Ability to explain browser-based development workflows, AI-assisted code generation, and rapid prototyping.
• Experience with deploying web apps and integrating databases in a teaching context.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1-on-1 online tutoring using Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform.

What We Look For In a Replit Tutor

• Advanced Subject Mastery: Deep knowledge of Replit cloud development environment including online IDE features, multi-language support, collaborative coding, Replit AI assistant, deployment, database integration, version control, and project hosting. Ability to explain browser-based development workflows, AI-assisted code generation, and rapid prototyping capabilities while preparing students for collaborative coding and web application deployment.
• Conceptual Teaching & Problem-Solving: Skilled at teaching cloud-based development, collaborative coding, and rapid application deployment using Replit. Guides students through creating projects in multiple programming languages, using Replit AI for code generation and debugging, collaborating in real-time with other developers, deploying web applications, and integrating databases. Emphasizes accessible development without local setup and connects Replit to learning programming, hackathon prototyping, and team collaboration.
• Curriculum Awareness & Adaptive Instruction: Familiar with Replit platform capabilities and common challenges such as understanding cloud versus local development differences, managing project dependencies, and leveraging AI assistance effectively. Adapts instruction using guided coding projects, collaborative exercises, and deployment tutorials to support students from coding beginners using Replit as their first development environment through experienced developers using it for rapid prototyping and collaboration.
• Effective Teaching Methods: Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
• Ability to adapt to different learning styles and student needs.
