Job summary

You will assist customers, handle stock, and support store operations while upholding Sobeys’ standards and policies. This position may involve physical tasks such as lifting up to 20 lbs and standing for extended periods.

• May be required to lift to 20lbs, stand for long periods, and perform physical tasks including bending, lifting and reaching.

• Adhere to all Food Safety Protocols, SOPs and Health and Safety policies.
• Order, receive and merchandise stock per inventory control procedures.
• Provide superior customer service to meet customer needs.
• Promote featured products to increase store sales.
• Maintain back shop and retail floor cleanliness per company requirements.
• Prep customer orders as required.
• Process department shrink as required.
• Participate in the training of junior staff.
• Other duties as required.

The Grocery Clerk is responsible for carrying out the full range of duties of the position in a professional, responsible, accurate and timely fashion. The Clerk will deliver exceptional customer service, foster customer loyalty, fulfill customer needs, and actively contribute to an environment of employee and customer engagement.

• Perform back shop and retail floor maintenance, keeping work area clean and presentable as per Company requirements


• Prep Customer orders, as required


• Process department shrink, as required


• Participate in the training of junior staff
