Thrifty-Foods in Victoria, BC, is seeking a Grocery Clerk to perform frontline tasks with accuracy and professionalism, delivering friendly service, restocking shelves, and supporting store operations. You will handle customer needs, promote featured products, assist with back shop tasks, and maintain a clean, safe environment while complying with food safety protocols.

This role requires the ability to lift up to 20 lbs and stand for long periods, as well as strong communication and teamwork

• Adhere to all Food Safety Protocols, SOPs and health & safety guidelines.
• Order, receive, and merchandise stock following inventory procedures.

• Increase store sales by promoting featured products.
• Maintain back shop and retail floor clean and presentable.
• Prepare customer orders as required.
• Process department shrink as required.
• Participate in training of junior staff.
• Other duties as required.

The Grocery Clerk is responsible for carrying out the full range of duties of the position in a professional, responsible, accurate and timely fashion. The Clerk will deliver exceptional customer service, foster customer loyalty, fulfill customer needs, and actively contribute to an environment of employee and customer engagement.

• Order, receive, and merchandise stock in accordance with company inventory control procedures, as required


• Provide superior customer service to meet customer needs

• Perform back shop and retail floor maintenance, keeping work area clean and presentable as per Company requirements


• Prep Customer orders, as required


• Process department shrink, as required


• Participate in the training of junior staff


• Other duties as required
