Qualifications

Salary: $44,665 annually (L3) with comprehensive benefits

Location: 80 Woodlawn Avenue East, Toronto, ON, M4T 1C1

Contract Period: July 2, 2025 to August 7, 2026

Position Overview

The Rent Receivables/Administrative Assistant supports the Housing Administration team by handling rent collection and processing for tenants in YWCA Toronto's permanent housing programs.

About YWCA Toronto – Housing Administration

We offer housing options for women and gender diverse people, including support services related to tenancy rights, conflict resolution, crisis intervention, and referrals. The Housing Administration manages intake, rent collection, RGI calculations, and eviction prevention.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect rent from tenants in the permanent housing program
  • Process collected rent, issue receipts, and input data into the Arcori database
  • Notify relevant staff of NSF cheques or electronic transfer issues
  • Prepare and submit bank deposits for rent received
  • Respond to inquiries regarding rent payments
  • Coordinate purchase of kitchen supplies and notify Property Services of issues at Bongard House
  • Assist in preparing N1 Notices for rent increases
  • Provide front desk relief during lunch and breaks
Qualifications
  • Community college diploma in business administration or equivalent; cases will be considered
  • 1-3 years relevant experience
  • Experience handling cash and financial transactions
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to interact with a diverse community
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation (Residential Tenancies Act, Ontario Human Rights Code, etc.)
  • Database experience is an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple requests and meet deadlines
  • Discretion handling confidential information
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Second language skills are an asset

Vacation restrictions apply during the first week of each month and at year-end.
