Job description

• Assist the Lead Renewable Energy Specialist in planning renewable energy equipment use by grantees and field camps.
• Develop recommendations for new renewable energy equipment and materials for current and future projects.
• Help assess the suitability of equipment needed and aid in implementing modifications and custom fabrications.
• Assist in the installation and maintenance of residential off-grid power systems in the field.
• Diagnose and repair renewable energy equipment and systems as required.
• Provide operation and field maintenance training to grantees and support personnel.
• Perform on-site work on equipment in the field as needed.
• Help develop plans for the future expansion of the renewable energy program in USAP field science.
• Document all work performed and maintain pertinent records.
• Operate and maintain shop equipment including welders, compressors, presses, etc.
• Manage a fleet of deep-cycle batteries, including cleaning, charging, and testing.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area.
• Support Science Support Division metrics as directed by your supervisor.
• Support the achievement of RPSC metrics, whether directly or indirectly affected by your activities.
• Comply with Amentum Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements and goals, providing documentation as necessary.
• Work towards achieving Amentum goals and contractual commitments.
• Maintain a safe workplace program, prioritizing safety in all activities.
• Perform other duties as required.
