Job summary

Astound Digital in Canada is seeking a Senior SFCC Backend Developer to architect, develop, and operate the server-side systems powering headless commerce storefronts. You will design and extend OCAPI/SCAPI endpoints, and collaborate across distributed teams to deliver robust, scalable commerce services.

Qualifications

• 5+ years web development using modern JavaScript (ES6+).
• 3+ years SFCC experience with headless/OCAPI architectures.
• Experience with REST or SOAP integrations.
• Experience building BFF patterns and caching strategies.
• Experience with PWA concepts and offline data sync.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and extend SFCC backend (OCAPI, SCAPI) endpoints for product, catalog, cart, checkout and customer data.
• Participate in daily agile ceremonies within a distributed team.
• Provide accurate effort estimates and conduct code reviews.
• Collaborate with frontend team on integration, caching layers and preload strategies for PWA performance.
• Produce API specifications, architecture diagrams, and runbooks for frontend-backend alignment.
• Facilitate and optimize SFCC Jobs to support high-scale real-time data.
• Refactor legacy cartridges into modular services and write clear technical docs.
• Translate complex logic into documentation to align distributed teams.
• Recommend enhancements to development workflows and deployment automation.
