Job summary

SME Careers is seeking a Punjabi Quality Assurance Lead to oversee quality, trainer performance, and rubrics across Punjabi AI training projects. This hourly remote contractor role requires excellent Punjabi and English, sharp attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate across dispersed teams.

You will review AI-generated Punjabi content, provide precise feedback, maintain documentation, and support onboarding and activation of contributors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mathematics.
• Native or near-native Punjabi proficiency with strong reading and writing.
• Strong grasp of English to follow project guidelines and provide feedback in English.
• 3+ years of professional experience in Punjabi writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training, education, annotation, or related language-review workflows.
• Strong understanding of Punjabi grammar, spelling conventions, punctuation, tone, register, dialect variation, and cultural context.
• Comfortable handling Gurmukhi and/or Shahmukhi script requirements; specify which scripts you can read and write.
• Ability to evaluate Punjabi content against rubrics and identify issues such as mistranslation, unnatural tone, or inconsistent terminology.

Responsibilities

• Quality monitoring: Spot-check Punjabi items, identify quality issues, provide ongoing feedback.
• Trainer and QA communication: Update trainers and QAs on Discord about guidelines and quality expectations.
• Question handling: Respond to trainer/QA questions clearly, especially around Punjabi wording and cultural context.
• Trainer/QA activation management: DM inactive contributors, encourage activation, track follow-ups, and flag availability issues.
• Documentation: Create and maintain Punjabi project documentation, including style guides, trackers, FAQs, quality notes, and onboarding materials.
• Onboarding and training: Schedule/onboard/train calls to explain expectations, rubrics, and Punjabi script requirements.
• Quality alignment: Ensure Punjabi language guidelines are followed and updated as projects evolve.
• Process improvement: Identify quality gaps and help build scalable QA processes for Punjabi-language projects.
