Job summary

Axon is seeking a Senior Technical Lead for Dedrone deployments from remote Canada, supporting the Real-Time Awareness ecosystem. You will own deployments from planning through go-live, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and train public safety operators and IT staff.

The role requires strong networking, RF sensing knowledge, and experience with public safety agencies. Travel up to 60% and lifting requirements are part of the job.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years in customer-facing roles such as Professional Services, Field Engineering or Deployment.
• Experience deploying hardware/software in complex operational environments.
• Understanding of drone systems, airspace management, RF sensing, or UAS programs.
• Proficiency with IP networking, SNMP, DHCP, PoE, Linux CLI and basic system administration.
• Strong training presence; able to present technical workflows to executives and teams.
• Experience with public safety agencies, particularly law enforcement or security operations.
• Project and stakeholder management; ability to own deployment from kickoff to success.
• Willingness to travel heavily and adapt to field conditions.
• Must lift at least 50 pounds and be able to climb ladders and work in elevated environments.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical lead for Dedrone deployments, owning delivery from post-sale through full operational readiness.
• Act as a subject matter expert across Axon's Real-Time Awareness suite, supporting integrated technologies.
• Deliver role-based training to customer drone teams, public safety operators, and IT staff.
• Guide customers in creating operational policies and workflows that integrate Dedrone with Axon Evidence and other systems.
• Coordinate and manage third-party training and integration vendors.
• Conduct site assessments to inform hardware placement and RF coverage.
• Build deployment docs, SOPs and training plans.
• Provide post-deployment monitoring and issue resolution.
• Collaborate with Sales, Product, and Engineering to support outcomes.
• Capture customer feature requests and report bugs to Product/Engineering.
• Attend strategic customer meetings to provide deployment context.
• Lead or assist in POCs, including setup, validation and debriefs.
• Support RFP/RFI responses with technical details.
• Draft or validate SOWs based on deployment complexity.
