Varsity Tutors is seeking online Middle School Writing tutors to help students improve writing skills from the comfort of home. You set your own schedule, earn competitive rates, and can tutor as much as you’d like.

You’ll be paid through the platform, with potential to earn up to $40/hour as you build ongoing relationships with students and deliver high-impact instruction. Remote work is supported, with AI-assisted tools to support lesson generation and engagement.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching middle school writing and guiding students through thesis development, evidence use, and revision.
• Ability to explain essay structure (claim-evidence-reasoning) and align with state writing assessments.
• Comfort using online tools to deliver instruction and track progress.

Responsibilities

• Conduct 1-on-1 online tutoring sessions with middle school students.
• Set flexible tutoring hours and communicate learning goals.
• Invoice for sessions and manage own schedule through the platform.
