Varsity Tutors.org is seeking online Middle School Reading tutors who can set their own schedules and earn competitive rates. You will tutor remotely using our Live Learning Platform, with pay that scales as you work with the same student and opportunities to invoice biweekly.

Ideal candidates have deep mastery of reading comprehension, vocabulary, and literary analysis, and can adapt to different texts and assessment formats while engaging students effectively.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of middle school reading concepts and strategies.
• Ability to teach close reading, evidence-based responses, and textual analysis.
• Familiar with middle school standards and adaptable to diverse texts and tasks.
• Ability to explain concepts clearly using multiple teaching approaches.
• Clear, engaging communication and ability to adapt to student needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1-on-1 online tutoring to middle school students.
• Adapt instruction to individual learning styles and needs.
• Use the Varsity Tutors platform to schedule sessions and invoice for tutoring.
