Job summary

Guru Studio is seeking a Location Designer for a new action‑comedy wrestling shorts series for kids 8‑11. You will work with the Director and Art Director to design locations, create multiple views and maps, and develop a cohesive look for the show.

You will collaborate with the design team, contribute to show evolution, and thrive in a time‑pressured environment. This role supports flexible remote work with in‑person studio time in Toronto.

Qualifications

• Excellent drawing and painting skills including perspective, interiors, architecture, landscapes.
• A solid understanding of light, shadow and colour.
• Clear understanding of location design and how designs are used in production pipelines.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop.
• Experience on a 2D production and knowledge of modeling locations and 2D layout is an asset.
• Proven ability to generate innovative concepts and ideas.

Responsibilities

• Work with Director and Art Director to design locations in the style of the show.
• Provide multiple views, maps and exploratory designs of locations.
• Create both linear and tonal/painted location designs.
• Collaborate with Art Director and design team to develop a consistent look for the show.
• Contribute substantially to the evolution of the show design.
• Demonstrate commitment to creative collaboration in a time-sensitive environment.
