Job summary

Insight Softmax Consulting, LLC. in Canada is seeking a part-time HPC Infrastructure Engineer to design, build and maintain high-performance computing services used for CFD, ML and simulation workloads.

You will work with a skunkworks style team delivering scalable, multi-region architectures. Ideal candidates have 3-5 years in HPC infra, strong Linux, Kubernetes, cloud experience (AWS preferred), and a passion for distributed systems.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years in HPC infrastructure, systems engineering, or a similar role.
• Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and scaling strategies.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain HPC infrastructure.
• Develop scalable distributed systems for complex computing tasks.
• Scale services from ~50 nodes to ~250+ node clusters.
• Use orchestration, configuration management, virtualization, Linux, CLI, deploy tools, monitoring, APM.
• Monitor HPC performance and optimize for scalability and efficiency.
• Balance feature development, product quality, and reliability.
