Description

Our client, a stable and collaborative Ontario-based mutual insurance company, is seeking a Farm Underwriter (Junior to Intermediate) to join their fully remote commercial and farm underwriting team. This position is ideal for a candidate with some prior farm underwriting experience who wants to develop deeper technical skills, contribute to a close-knit team, and enjoy meaningful work / life balance in a 100% remote environment.

The successful candidate will underwrite a broad range of small to mid-sized farm risks in Ontario, including hobby farms and mixed-use operations. This role offers exposure to commercial lines, peer learning, and future opportunities for growth into more senior or specialist roles.

• Assist in cross-training efforts and knowledge-sharing with team members

Qualifications

• 6 months to 5 years of Farm Underwriting experience
• Strong understanding of Ontario farm risks and broker relationships
• Comfortable with digital platforms (e.g., policy management systems, Excel)
• Solid communication and organizational skills
• Agricultural background (education or personal experience) is a plus
• Bilingualism (English / French) is an asset but not required
