Job summary

PCL Constructors Westcoast Inc. in Richmond, British Columbia, is seeking a District HR Advisor to develop talent, enable strong leadership, and support exceptional business performance.

You will lead HRPD initiatives, drive recruitment strategies, coach supervisors on employee relations, and coordinate compensation processes across client groups, all within a supportive, employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• Postsecondary diploma or degree in human resources or a related discipline preferred.
• Working towards an HR designation preferred.
• 5 years of progressive human resources experience preferred.
• Ability to tactfully and diplomatically deal with people and handle confidential information.
• Ability to research, analyze information and data, and make recommendations.
• Able to work independently or in a team in a highly matrixed organization.
• Able to mentor and coach entry-level HR professionals.
• Strong verbal and written communication with negotiation and influencing abilities.
• Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
• Demonstrated critical-thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Leads and advises on HRPD programs, policy, practices, and compliance for assigned client groups.
• Develops and executes a recruitment plan with appropriate sourcing strategies.
• Participates in district HRPD planning process and leads district-level projects and initiatives.
• Provides guidance, coaching, and training on career management.
• Coaches supervisors on employee relations issues, compensation, recruitment, and performance improvement activities.
• Assists with local market research and analysis for annual compensation review and coordinates salary/bonus reviews.
• Develops and maintains relationships with stakeholders within the district.
• Oversees the student program strategy and maintains relationships with academic institutions.
