Job summary

Red Nucleus is seeking a Director, Scientific Services to lead scientific strategy and content excellence within our Medical Communications team. This remote role is based anywhere in the UK and focuses on end‑to‑end scientific leadership for key accounts.

The ideal candidate will drive publication planning, mentorship of writers/ASDs, and robust client relationships while upholding industry standards and quality across workflows.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a scientific or healthcare field preferred.
• Candidates with a relevant bachelor’s or master’s plus extensive experience may be considered.
• ~6+ years medical communications/writing experience, including multi‑account leadership.
• ~2+ years people management and coaching experience.
• Excellence in scientific writing and publications standards.
• Strategic thinking and client leadership; facilitation and presentation skills.
• Strong understanding of clinical research and regulatory landscape.

Responsibilities

• Lead one or more large/high complexity accounts; define integrated medical/scientific communication strategies.
• Serve as principal scientific contact for client stakeholders; align strategy to brand priorities.
• Establish quality standards across assigned teams.
• Oversee content across manuscripts, materials, training content, digital assets, and MLR materials.
• Conduct detailed scientific reviews for accuracy and regulatory alignment.
• Lead scientific discussions, workshops, and advisory boards; represent the organization externally.
• Manage 3–5 direct reports; guide career development and performance.
