Job summary

University of Falar in Canada is seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automation, and scalable infrastructure to support reliable software releases.

The ideal candidate has a degree in CS or equivalent, hands-on with Terraform, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms, plus scripting in Bash or Python. Flexible hours and remote options available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role with CI/CD and automation.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and version control systems (Git).
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Bash, Python, Ruby).
• Solid knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible) for provisioning cloud resources.
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, GCP and related services.
• Strong networking, security practices, and monitoring knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish automated deployment processes.
• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliable releases.
• Develop and maintain IaC using Terraform, Ansible for scalable deployments.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize system performance and reliability.
• Implement security best practices across CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure.
• Work with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization/orchestration.
• Manage cloud infrastructure and optimize cost and resource use.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response.
