Job summary

McKesson is seeking a strategic Director, Data Governance to lead enterprise-wide governance programs that improve data quality and regulatory compliance. You will define governance strategies across data cataloging, metadata management, data quality, and data lineage capabilities while partnering with business, risk, and audit teams.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in data governance, data management, analytics, or related fields.
• 4+ years of people leadership experience.
• Experience leading enterprise-scale data governance programs and operating models.
• Experience with data quality, data lineage, metadata management, and data stewardship.
• Experience partnering with compliance, risk, privacy, audit or regulatory teams.
• Proven ability to define governance policies, KPIs, and reporting frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise data governance strategy, operating model, policies, standards, and controls.
• Drive adoption and optimization of data governance and data catalog platforms.
• Oversee data quality, metadata management, master data, and data lineage programs.
• Partner with Risk, Compliance, Privacy, Security, and Audit teams for regulatory readiness.
• Develop governance metrics and executive reporting for senior leadership.
• Engage stakeholders to define data ownership and accountability.
• Lead cross-functional teams on large governance initiatives.
• Build high-performing teams and a culture of accountability.
