Harris Computer, the largest operating group of Constellation Software Inc. (TSX: CSU), is looking for a Corporate Development Specialist based in the USA or Canada to join our expanding team of talented corporate development professionals on the mergers and acquisitions (M&A) team. This team works closely with Harris’s senior management in continuing the company’s success in acquiring software businesses.

This role is a full-time, remote, work-from-home position. We will consider candidates from anywhere in North America. As a Corporate Development Specialist, you will report to the Corporate Development Manager.

In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing new acquisitions, developing relationships with key decision makers, and initiating investment opportunities related to vertical market software businesses.

You will be successful if you are a people-person, have solid business acumen, love to learn and experiment, and have a passion for creating and maintaining relationships. Prior corporate development experience is helpful but not necessary. Financial literacy, strong interpersonal skills, and understanding of software and technology businesses are assets.

Your responsibilities include:

1. Engaging decision makers at software businesses to identify and nurture acquisition opportunities using communication and CRM tools.
2. Maintaining relationships with existing acquisition targets.
3. Managing Harris’ M&A relationships in your coverage area.
4. Effectively communicating Harris’ investment strategy and managing the investment process professionally.
5. Supporting the M&A team in qualifying potential targets.
6. Tracking activities and maintaining information in Salesforce.
7. Generating leads, qualifying investment opportunities, and progressing them through the M&A pipeline.

Qualifications:

1. Fluency in both English and French.
2. 5+ years of related business experience in sales, corporate development, consulting, banking, investing, M&A sourcing, technology/software, investor relations, or entrepreneurship/start-up experience.
3. Aptitude and passion for corporate development and relationship management.
4. Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
5. Self-motivated with excellent prioritization and multi-tasking abilities.
6. Open to candidates who believe they are a good fit, even if they have diverse backgrounds.
