Qualifications

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Financial Management and Bookkeeping : Overseeing day-to-day financial transactions, maintaining accurate data with general ledger entries. Conduct month-end and year-end closings, including posting journal entries for accruals, prepayments, and depreciation. Administer and reconcile multi-currency transactions for clients with global operations.
  • Financial Reporting : Preparing detailed financial statements, producing custom management reports and ensuring reports are delivered in a timely manner.
  • Payroll and Benefits Administration: Managing payroll processing for clients, including calculating salaries, statutory deductions, and remittances, administering employee benefits programs, including health insurance or RRSP contributions, ensuring compliance with employment standards.
  • Client Relationship Management : Acting as the primary point of contact for clients in their portfolio, addressing queries and providing financial insights, sending updates/follow ups.
  • Software and Systems Management : Setting up and maintaining accounting software tailored to each client’s needs. Troubleshooting software issues and assisting clients in transitioning to cloud-based or upgraded systems.
  • Audit and Compliance and Year End Support : Preparing documentation and schedules for audits or reviews conducted by external auditors or government agencies.
  • Business Advisory Support : Offering insights on cash flow management, cost-saving opportunities, or financial health.
  • Project-Based Work : Leading one-off projects, such as cleanup of historical records, system migrations, or implementing new policies. Supporting clients during major financial events, like restructuring, tax audits, or preparation for funding rounds. Assisting clients with government grant applications, subsidy programs, or other financial incentives.
  • Data Security : Assist with implementation and monitoring data security measures to protect sensitive client information. Ensure integrity and security of financial data.
  • Risk Management : Identify and manage potential risks associated with client engagements. Identify and discuss potential risks associated with strategic business decisions.
  • Technical Expertise : Stay current with industry trends, accounting standards and regulatory changes. Provide technical guidance to team members and clients on complex accounting issues.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate firm policies, goals and expectations to team members, ensure effective internal communication channels.
  • Technology Integration: Evaluate and implement technology solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Adhoc Tasks : Management team may from time to time assign additional duties to the Bookkeeper so long as the tasks assigned are consistent with the nature of the above duties.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy or any related field.
  • At least 2-5 years experience in PH and International Accounting : US/AU/CA Public Firms
  • Certification in Bookkeeping is a plus
  • Proficient with QBO and Microsoft 365
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Detail Oriented
