Job summary

Movable Ink is seeking a mid-level Analytics Engineer to join our Toronto-based Business Intelligence team. You will translate reporting needs into well-defined metrics and bridge between business stakeholders and data models.

You will build dbt models in Redshift, develop Tableau dashboards, and help stakeholders ask better questions of the data. This role emphasizes analytics rigor over full-stack data engineering and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in analytics engineering or similar roles.
• Hands-on dbt: models, tests, and docs in production.
• Strong SQL in a cloud data warehouse (Redshift a plus).
• Experience delivering analyses/dashboards to business stakeholders.
• Proficiency with a BI tool (Tableau preferred) and multi-source analyses.
• Git-based workflows (branching, PRs, code reviews).

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain dbt models from vault to data mart.
• Extend mart models with calculations in collaboration with BI teams.
• Create new Kimball-style datasets from vault sources.
• Build AI-ready datasets for ML/AI apps; ensure well-documented data.
• Maintain data dictionary in OpenMetadata with lineage and definitions.
• Partner with stakeholders to define metrics and definitions.
• Work with BI Analysts to translate insight needs into modeling requirements.
• Build Tableau dashboards and reports from data mart outputs.
