About The Opportunity
  • Outlier is looking for talented writers with fluency in English to help train generative artificial intelligence models.
  • This reading and writing-intensive freelance opportunity is remote with flexible hours, allowing you to work whenever is best for you.
Contributions
  • Reading English text to rank responses produced by AI models.
  • Writing and rewriting prompts and responses, involving research and fact-checking.
  • Assessing the factuality and relevance of AI-generated text.
Desired Expertise
  • Experience as a professional writer or editor.
  • Currently enrolled in or completed a bachelor's degree or higher in a writing-related discipline.
  • Strong writing style, exceptional English spelling and grammar, and good logic and reasoning skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to clearly explain strengths and weaknesses of texts.
Payment
  • Average pay rates for core project work by English writing experts in the US are around USD $35 per hour.
  • Rates vary based on expertise, skills, location, project needs, and other factors. Higher rates may be offered to PhDs. Lower rates may apply during onboarding or overtime phases. Incentive payments may also be available. Please review the payment terms for each project.
