Job summary

TELUS Digital AI Community invites an AI Safety & Policy Expert to join as an independent contractor. You will label and mitigate risks in training data, applying safety rubrics to thousands of scenarios, ensuring the model learns what is right and what is wrong.

You’ll classify harmful content, verify facts, apply guidelines to edge cases, and feed insights back to governance leads. Work remotely as part of a 1M+ global community, with flexible scheduling and project-based engagements across

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in any field.
• Native-language proficiency required for harm signals and context.
• English proficiency at least B1 to follow guidelines and log safety reports.
• Attention to detail for repetitive, high-stakes analysis.
• Complete a subject-specific qualification exam and ID verification.

Responsibilities

• Safety annotation: evaluate responses against safety rubrics and flag bias or prohibited topics.
• Harmful content classification: categorize types of harm to define boundaries.
• Fact-checking & grounding: verify factual claims with reliable sources.
• Guideline application: apply policy documents to edge cases for consistency.
• Feedback loop participation: report weaknesses to governance leads.
