Job summary

Peel Addiction Assessment and Referral Centre (PAARC) is recruiting an Addiction Counsellor/Case Manager to deliver counselling and case management for clients with mental health and substance use issues within a justice-involved framework. You will assess eligibility, develop treatment plans, provide aftercare, and support clients living in the community.

The role is full-time and community-based (90-100%), with travel across Peel Region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field from an accredited institution or commensurate experience.
• 2 years of experience as an addictions counsellor/case manager.
• Knowledge of harm reduction and abstinence-based approaches.
• CPR and First Aid certification; GAIN Q3 MI ONT is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake, screening, assessment, and treatment planning for eligibility and ongoing needs.
• Provide ongoing counselling and case management, including aftercare and discharge with a defined caseload.
• Respond to crises with appropriate interventions and support clients’ healthy boundaries.
• Participate in case conferences and liaise with treatment providers and community partners.
• Maintain client files and documentation per legal and best-practice standards.
