Overview

The Remote Account Manager is responsible for communicating with veterinary customers to initiate and sustain sales relationships and promote the companion animal line of products and services to meet and exceed customer needs. The Remote Account Manager is also responsible for achieving the annual sales and business objectives within the established business plan for the territory. The role requires developing effective working relationships with all account managers in the region (Ontario, excluding the Ottawa area) and optimizing interactions with customers to increase sales and market penetration.

Responsibilities
  • Understand customer needs and communicate accurate product information and support through targeted communications and call activities to increase sales and market penetration.
  • Develop strategic and innovative methods of communication and relationship building to strengthen clinic partnerships.
  • Align communications to the Customer-Centered Selling model and determine the next best event to follow up with the customer in a timely manner.
  • Conduct webinars, attend product and sales training, and participate in conferences and conventions.
  • Engage with Key Account contacts during various marketing initiatives as needed.
  • Manage territory data through CRM and other relevant territory management tools.
  • Perform administrative duties including territory planning, account planning, call planning, performance monitoring, daily calls recording, expense management, and shipment requests from clients.
  • Collaborate across teams and contribute to performance metrics tied to territory success, targeted promotions, and operating objectives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree; Science degree preferred. Veterinary Technician Diploma acceptable.
  • Pharmaceutical sales or animal health industry experience preferred.
  • Experience in small animal veterinary practice as an animal health technician or veterinarian is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of the animal health industry and veterinary practice operations is an asset.
  • Proficient in office technology and related software; excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Comfortable with new technologies.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • French (written and spoken) if located in Quebec; English required for provinces outside Quebec.
Contract and Language
  • This is a 1-year contract role.
  • Remote; travel and other requirements as applicable.
