Job description

Tasks

RESPONSIBILITIES.

  1. Organize and plan the equipment and instruments in topographic survey works and large-scale civil works.
  2. Coordinate the Bridge Management Technical and Department issues, as well as supervise the work team regarding data collection, calculation of volumes, locations.
  3. Operate and ensure maintenance and use of all topography and civil engineering equipment.
  4. Manage stakeout planning, loading, and unloading of field data.
  5. Control geometric work and calculation of errors.
  6. Coordinate the update of instrument software when necessary.
  7. Coordinate geometric design of work, and interpretation and update of plans.
  8. Follow and implement the Quality plan.
  9. Ensure compliance with the health and safety policy.
  10. Ensure compliance with current environmental regulations.
Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES.

  1. Minimum requirements: Bachelor's degree.
  2. Preferred: post-graduate studies in Geodesy Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  3. Strong knowledge and experience in topographic survey methods, structures, and geometric calculations.
  4. The ability to read and use information from maps, graphic drawings, and measurements taken in the field.
  5. A minimum of five (5) to ten (10) years of progressive experience in a surveying role; experience in construction and engineering surveys, in a leadership position.
  6. Experience in the sectors of heavy civil infrastructure, highways and bridges, or rail and transit.
  7. It is required that the selected person has worked at least in one Mega Project, more than 1 billion dollars, in the last 5 years. The person needs to show huge experience in all the Construction works related with Earthworks, Roads, Structures: Bridges, Viaducts, Tunnels, Utilities, etc.
  8. The candidate must have a valid driver's license.
  9. Experience with GPS, Robotic Total Stations (Leica, Trimble).
  10. Computer skills and the ability to use AutoCAD (Civil 3D), MicroStation, Leica Geo Office, MS Office, MS Excel.
  11. It is essential that the candidate has knowledge about and manages the software MDT, PRESTO, CLIP and ISTRAM as he/she will be using them in daily work.
  12. Effective communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills with a high level of reliability.
  13. Ability to communicate in English orally and in writing.
  14. Ability to work in all weather conditions.

  3. Salary: $63 CAD per hour.
  4. Benefits:

  • Access to a vehicle: the company’s client will provide a vehicle for the employee.
  • Other benefits: support from the company’s administrative office in order to perform any administrative tasks regarding English tests, school enrolment, finding accommodation and related issues.
  • Schedule: from Monday to Friday. Saturdays on occasion.
