Job summary

Fraser Health Authority invites applications for a Relief Part Time Unit Clerk at Surrey Memorial Hospital in Surrey, BC. The role supports the Maternal - Infant - Child & Youth team, with a hourly wage of CAD 30.03 and a limited-term assignment through June 2027 or until the incumbent returns.

Responsibilities include patient registration, order transcription, appointment scheduling and chart maintenance, with emphasis on accurate data entry and interdepartmental communication.

Qualifications

• Grade 12, medical terminology and graduation of a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk program, plus one year of recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Registers patients on arrival and completes registration documentation.
• Transcribes and processes physicians' orders and enters information into the computer.
• Schedules, books and coordinates inpatient and/or outpatient appointments and tests.
• Maintains and assembles patient charts and attaches documents to the health record.
• Answers phones, handles messages, distributes mail and supports unit clerical duties.
• Maintains timekeeping records and processes payroll-related requests for staff.
