Job summary

Fraser Health Authority is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to join Burnaby Hospital on a relief full-time basis. You will deliver comprehensive speech language pathology services within a multi-disciplinary team, supporting patients in communication and swallowing, and contributing to an integrated care plan at Burnaby Hospital in Burnaby, BC.

The role requires current BC registration, expertise in assessment and intervention, and the ability to work within a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC including applicable College certification(s).
• Experience in speech language pathology assessment, diagnosis and intervention planning.
• Ability to collaborate with interprofessional care teams and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide speech language assessment of communication and swallowing abilities.
• Develop and implement evidence-based intervention plans.
• Educate patients and caregivers on management and self-care.
• Collaborate in care planning and ensure effective communication with the interprofessional team.
• Maintain patient records and document progress and outcomes.
• Support supervision and mentorship for junior staff as needed.
