Job Overview

The Relief Residential Counsellor will develop and implement individualized, goal-oriented programs for adults with developmental disabilities across Lawson Ministries programs. The role involves promoting independence, supporting physical and emotional needs, and collaborating with team members and service users.

Responsibilities
  • Promote independence and high quality of living
  • Create a supportive and nurturing environment
  • Meet physical needs (food, clothing, shelter), including home cleaning and meal prep
  • Support emotional and psychological well-being
  • Participate in planning, implementing, and evaluating treatment plans
Requirements
  • Post-secondary diploma in Human Services or related field
  • First Aid & CPR certification
  • Non Violent Physical Crisis Intervention certification
  • Criminal background check with vulnerable sector screening
  • Valid Ontario Class “G” Driver’s license and access to vehicle
Experience & Skills
  • At least 1 year working with adults with developmental disabilities
  • Experience with medication administration is an asset
  • Strong communication, attention to detail, and confidentiality
Work Conditions & Compensation

Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends. Part-time relief position. Salary range: $21.83 - $32.75/hour, based on experience and qualifications.
