OverviewJob DescriptionManage plant production activities by supervising front-line employees to ensure products are manufactured in scheduled quantities, within budget, and meet quality standards. Ensure compliance with safety and environmental programs, and oversee raw materials loading, shipments, and distribution. Provide relief for supervisors during absences and manage continuous improvement projects during day shifts.
Responsibilities- Lead safety initiatives to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe workplace.
- Ensure environmental regulation compliance and interface with regulatory agencies.
- Investigate safety issues with the Safety Committee.
- Monitor safety and environmental programs for effectiveness.
- Manage continuous improvement processes, including non-conformance resolution and corrective actions.
- Develop and implement training plans for employees.
- Supervise tasks to meet sales, production, and maintenance goals.
- Follow collective bargaining agreements.
- Assign weekly schedules and oversee product quality during processes.
- Collaborate with Process and Maintenance teams to optimize kiln efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Supervise shipment loading and execute daily production plans, including breakdown management.
- Generate maintenance requests and monitor key performance indicators for improvements.
- Participate in daily production meetings and communicate variances and action plans.
- Support major maintenance projects and monitor staffing levels.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
Requirements- Post-secondary education in related fields such as technology, engineering, or sciences.
- Supervisory experience in manufacturing, focusing on quality, safety, and environmental matters.
- Strong material management skills, results-driven, and proactive.
- Positive attitude with problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work in a team and adapt to fast-paced environments.
- Excellent management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience in relevant industrial settings.
