Job summary

Dessert Holdings, based in London, ON, is hiring a Full Time Production / Relief Setup Operator to set up and troubleshoot equipment, ensuring production standards, cleanliness and safety. The role supports line staff and adherence to GMPs and quality controls in a fast-paced dessert manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include equipment setup, changeovers, pre-operational checks, and coordination with teams to maintain continuous operation while complying with safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred; valid Canadian work eligibility.
• 1–2 years experience as machine/setup operator in continuous process manufacturing (food/pharma preferred).
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent; technical degree is a plus.
• Able to read blueprints, schematics and manuals.
• Commitment to safety, quality and performance standards.
• Ability to work independently, be organized and exercise good judgment.
• Strong attention to detail and mechanical understanding.

Responsibilities

• Configure, position and reposition equipment for changeovers and layouts, ensuring alignment and continuity.
• Perform pre-operational checks, diagnostics, and troubleshooting to minimize disruptions.
• Operate lifting and material-handling equipment to install and move line components during setup.
• Use measurement tools to verify product specs and report deviations.
• Maintain hygiene and follow GMPs, sanitation schedules, and BRC requirements.
• Remove waste and safely store cleaning tools and materials.
• Complete documentation including BRC audit records and operational paperwork.
• Coordinate with staff to support continuous operations and resolve issues.
• Assist with setup activities, contract cleaning and maintenance, training and learning initiatives.
• Adhere to safety, quality, performance and food safety standards.
