The North West Company (NWC) is hiring Relief Pharmacy Assistants for our pharmacies in Northern Canada. Bring your community-focused care and pharmaceutical skills to NWC. In this role, you will assist the Pharmacist with prescription filling and administrative duties, enabling the Pharmacist to focus on patient care. You are expected to deliver excellent customer service and participate in all aspects of pharmacy operations as part of a team.

Travel to remote regions in Northern Canada is required. You will receive a competitive wage, travel costs covered according to our travel policy, and potential reimbursement for provincial licensing costs based on negotiations.

Your Role :

• Receive prescriptions, follow legal/regulatory requirements, and maintain patient confidentiality;
• Perform data entry, price checks, patient info updates, refills, and report generation using pharmacy software;
• Fill prescriptions under supervision;
• Select, count, measure, and prepare medications;
• Label and organize prescriptions, obtain approvals for verbal refills;
• Assist with cognitive services;
• Maintain inventory and stock levels, check for expired medications monthly;
• Organize supplies and clerical tasks.

Desired Skills & Experience :

• Certification from a College or online Pharmacy Technician program (accreditation not required);
• At least two years of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant;
• Experience with report generation, receipts, invoices, and general filing;
• Experience in medication preparation, labeling, and delivery;
• Ability to work independently;
• Experience with pharmacy software, specifically Kroll;
• Retail or administrative experience is a plus;
• Excellent customer service skills;
• Strong verbal and written communication skills;
• Policy-driven with respect for community diversity.
